Tucked in the beautiful hills just 23 miles south of Mandan, ND along the backwaters of the majestic Missouri River, in Fort Rice, sits a tranquil place full of hospitality and grace. Founded by Kristie Tschida in 2023, Hoof It Forward was established to support people of all ages with physical, cognitive, social and emotional challenges to find healing, strength, and independence through the power and connection of horses. Providing a safe place for physical and emotional growth.
We believe everyone should have the same opportunities, treated with dignity and respect, and no one should get left behind. Every day is a new day. Building better communities by modeling unconditional care through the partnership of horses.
Hello! Welcome to the arena! I am Diamond! I am learning to be the leader and started doing lessons. Being groomed and pampered are my favorite things!
I am a "miracle child". I have had a tough life and happy to arrive here. I love my time in the arena and my riders. I have a big heart. Dinner time is my favorite thing, and I don't like being left out of any lesson times!
I am the matriarch of the farm. I am a retired broodmare and get to help with the program.
My name is Charlie. Trail riding or hanging out is my favorite thing. I just love getting attention.
I have really enjoyed getting to know my new role here. It gives me purpose again. I like to take care of all the horses too.. Please pet me! I am such a sweet ole boy.
I am here to remind everyone that just because you get injured doesn't mean you don't have value and worth! I may not see well, and I have partial paralyses on my head, I am worthy. I am ENOUGH.
I am a retired ranch horse. I have seen it all. I have carried grown men to the branding fires, chased after the fastest cows, rode long hard trails, let kids hang off my neck. Just point me and I will go.
We are a representation of partnership and true love. Through better or worse (all better) we have never left one another since we joined our family as babies. Still today we stand together, in our 20's, looking out for one another.
I am a retired Little Britches Rodeo horse. I also showed in my day. I like to stay at an easy pace. Trustworthy, kind and reliable, I am the go-to horse.
I have carried many people on my back up and down the trails. I have lots of experience to share with young and the young at heart like me.
I have experience carrying people of all ages. I have been on the ND trails. It will be nice to meet lots of new people to spend time with.
